The Codex Collection was a set of paintings, bound together in book form. They have now been separated into individual paintings, each one mounted with details of the artist and the location.
These paintings were commissioned by the Uxbridge Guild of Arts in the 1970’s, to be a permanent record of views of Uxbridge and the surrounding areas. Since many of the buildings depicted no longer exist, these paintings now assume great historical significance. They have been kept for the past thirty years or so in the archive section of the Central Library, Uxbridge.
Upon the demise of the Uxbridge Guild of Arts in 2005, these paintings were bequeathed to this Charity together with funds to enable them to be framed and put on permanent exhibition somewhere.
Unfortunately we have not been able to find a suitable site to put all these paintings on permanent display. One answer has been to put them on permanent display on this website. The other answer has been to acquire a set of re-usable frames so that they can be displayed from time to time at various locations.
