London 2012 Roadshows

The London 2012 Roadshow (Get Set London) will visit all West London Boroughs between now and the end of March. The roadshow is designed to raise awareness of 2012 and contains various interactive displays, housed in 3 'pods'. Each roadshow will vary in size, however the 'Hero' event (the largest of the roadshows) will be visiting Haven Green, LB Ealing on Sat 1st March. It is hoped that the roadshow will continue beyond March 08, but funding for this has yet to be confirmed.

At the Hero event, there is an opportunity for local  people / groups to show of their skills and talents in the performance tent. Our understanding is that there will be a panel of judges who will select an act to progress to a final round with the chance to win the opportunity to perform at the Handover celebrations in London in August. Anyone interested in performing at the Haven Green event needs to upload a short video of their performance on the website below by FRIDAY 25th JANUARY.

I'm sure you will all groan at the timescales - we have literally just found out about this ourselves and realistically it is only going to be of interest to individuals or groups who will have a performance video already done. I understand it is being promoted via ITV London but if possible, please can you circulate round your networks and raise awareness. Full information including terms and conditions of entry is also detailed on the attached website. It would be fantastic to showcase some of West London's talent. I will also be raising it with the Western Wedge tomorrow.

TREASURER

We were all sorry to lose Audrey Bink as our Treasurer earlier this year.  She had been a very capable keeper of our finances.

The good news is that we have now appointed someone to take over that post.  His name is Tanjeet Gill, and I hope you will all be able to meet him at our March Meeting., and give him a warm welcome.

Our secretary will be handing over the account books at the beginning of November, 2007.

Tanjeet will also be looking after the Grants Applications and payments. If  you have any questions you can send them to Mr. Tanjeet Gill, 129 Wentworth Road, Southall, UB2 7TU.     Or you can use the “Contact Us” form on this site, and your message will be passed on to him.

(See the item below regarding Membership Fees)..

GRANTS FORMS.  These are now being prepared, and will be sent out shortly.  Please contact the treasurer regarding these forms.

MEMBERSHIP FEES

The Executive Committee have decided that it makes more sense for the person entrusted with keeping the Register of Members, to also keep track of the Membership Fees.  This will therefore be the Secretary, (unless we get a volunteer to take on the post of  Membership Secretary)

So in future PLEASE SEND YOUR CHEQUES FOR THE MEMBERSHIP FEES, to the SECRETARY.

You can pay by CREDIT CARD on this site on the Paysubs Page

If you have any questions about membership or whether you fees have been paid, you can phone the secretary, or use the “Contact Us” form on this website.

Fees for 2008/2009 will be listed here shortly.
