COUNCIL CASH ARTS GRANTS TO END
Sylvia Taylor writes:-
Lydia and I have been advised by Lyn Summers, the current Grants Officer with the Council,
that we can expect that after this year there will be NO financial support for the voluntary
Arts Sector in the form of Arts Grants
The Council 4 year Strategy Plan did not identify this and we have only been told very recently
of this decision, although we suspect that this was already planned for when drawing up
the Council Strategy document.
MESSAGE TO CABINET.
As you might expect we have made a strong case to members of the Cabinet including Councillor Lavery
whose responsibilities appear to include some responsibility for Grants.
Grants to Societies are not only a very helpful contribution to budgets but they also signify
the Council’s support for what we do on a voluntary basis week in and week out.
We have yet to receive a response from any Councillor.
FINAL DATE.
Furthermore, requests for Grant Aid towards events should be with the Lyn Summers BY 31st DECEMBER 2022 AT THE VERY LATEST.
Any received after that date will not be considered.
If societies need help in completing the Councils on-line form we suggest you complete the
down loaded-able sample form on the HAA website before transferring your information to
the Council’s Application.
ACCOUNTS VITAL.
It is essential societies provide an up to date
set of Accounts at the time of making the Application as failure to do so can only lead to delays
in processing, or even for the application to be rejected.
Sylvia Taylor.
HELP WITH YOUR APPLICATION
The Council website is not as friendly as it might be so we suggest you draft out the answers
to the questions using the HAA sample application form, and when you are happy with them go to the council application form
on the Council Website.
The Council will NOT ACCEPT the HAA version of the form.

There is a list here of all member societies, clubs and groups, etc. which gives details of how
to contact them, about them and their Website.
or look under `Membership` and select List of Members.
Officers and members of groups should look at their entry
to see if it what you want the public to see about their organisation. If not then the User for their society can
make changes, additions or update the details
Entering Event Details
Now that things are beginning to get back to normal, you may be planning your next event.
If so you can
enter events on this Website."
The
Events List shown here is more than publicity
for your event - it is also a most useful 'Clearing House' for events.
If you are planning an
event you can look at this list to make sure there is not another similar event already planned for
that date.
Get your event listed here as soon as you can to show other societies that the date is
already in use.(If you later on find that changes have to be made, then you or your officer who has registered as a
'User' can easily do this.)
MEMBERSHIP FEES
Groups, clubs, charities, etc. who are members
of the HAA, are asked for a membershiip fee of £20 per year.

Unfortunately an Email intended only for Individuals, was sent to everybody on my mailing list.
My sincere apologies for this.
